Take a taxi to the train

As local residents know all too well, Elstead does not have a train station. The good news is that there are five within a short 10-minute taxi ride with direct services to London Waterloo.

On the Portsmouth-London line:

• There’s no worries about finding a parking space and paying over £15.50 for the privilege. (The current price at time of writing at Guildford Station Premium Car Park where Peak tickets only are available.)

Since your ride home is pre-booked and trackable on the app, there’s no worries over whether there will be a taxi available on the Guildford and Godalming ranks for your return journey home. 

Buses and taxis in Elstead

Elstead is served by the Stagecoach 46 bus running from Guildford to Farnham/Aldershot, with several stops in Elstead itself. The bus currently runs 13 times a day about an hour apart during the weekdays, but not every bus stops at every Elstead stop.

What’s more, with the last bus back from Guildford at around 6.30pm, there’s no bus service after a show at the Yvonne Arnaud or dinner at a Guildford restaurant. The same applies if you want to enjoy dinner at the Giggling Squid or a pub in Farnham: the last bus back is even earlier, around 6pm.
